Jessie F. Hallett Library Pre-school Story Hour

The importance of reading to your child and encouraging the  “Library Habit” comes alive each
Wednesday morning @ 10:30 a.m. at the Hallett Memorial Library, Crosby. (101 1st St SE-across from the Super Valu). Librarians Deb Weide, Peggi Beseres and Sharon Beaman plan fun-filled themed Story Times for area preschoolers and their caregivers.

Each program runs about 40 minutes and includes various combinations of stories, songs, finger plays, crafts and snacks.  We seek funding each year to bring in special programming such as storytellers, musicians, magicians and puppeteers

No pre-registration is necessary-we include all ages 0-6 years. For more information, call 218-546-8005

Children’s Memorial Books Housed at Library
The Esther J. Horsager collection of books, previously housed at the Emily Charter School,
will now be available for check-out at the Jessie F. Hallett Memorial Library in Crosby.  This collection of 250 titles was selected by family members and chosen with the highest standards of Children’s Literature in mind.  Newbery Honor books, Caldecott award winners, American Library Association (ALA) selections and classics make up a large proportion of this memorial library.  Esther Janet Horsager, 1901-1987, mother, grandmother, teacher, storyteller and friend, had a great love of reading. Her passion for books, learning and literature will be ever present at the JFHML. For more information about this living book project, contact Olive (Horsager) Slye or Sharon (Slye) Beaman, Emily.
